37th Annual Hang Gliding Spectacular - Jockey’s Ridge State Park & Jockey’s Ridge Crossing (mp 12.5), Nags Head.
World’s oldest continuous Hang gliding competition. Hang gliding pros from all over the world come to the Outer Banks to compete and have fun on Jockey’s Ridge State Park. Demonstrations, street dance and awards ceremonies are all features of this spectacular event. Families can enjoy a rock climbing wall, hang gliding simulator, kite making, face painting and a visit by Wil Bear Wright. A portion of the events proceeds will go to benefit Friends of Jockeys Ridge, a non-profit organization which supports the development of Jockey’s Ridge State Park.

Wil-Bear Wright’s Festival of Fun - Kitty Hawk Kites (mp 12.5), Nags Head.
Come visit Wil-Bear Wright and Kitty Hawk Kites for a day filled with fun activities for the kids. Make and fly your own kite, try yo-yo stunts, get your face painted, demo all the new toys for 2008 and have lots of fun! This Wednesday family extravaganza kicks off our summer long Kid’s Day, held every Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

27th Annual Rogallo Kite Festival - Jockey's Ridge State Park (mp 12.5), Nags Head.
The Rogallo Kite festival, presented by Kitty Hawk Kites, will continue honoring Francis M. Rogallo, NASA scientist and inventor of the Flexible Wing. This two day festival will feature our signature kite flying on the dunes of Jockey's ridge as well as nightly entertainment celebrating the history of kiting. Spectators can anticipate a 50' scuba diver, 100' octopus and other large specialty kites flown throughtout the event. Throughout the two day festival, there will be exhibitions and demonstrations including stunt and power kite lessons, free children's games and activities, and much more!

Outer Banks Sandsculpture Festival - Kitty Hawk Sports at Jockey’s Ridge Crossing (mp 12.5), Nags Head.
A professional sandsculpture company will be on hand to sculpt a huge sand creation. Kitty Hawk Sports, Peace Frogs, Brew Thru, Panama Jack Suncreen, OBX, and Outer Banks Hospital are sponsors. There will be fun events, raffles, and entertainment throughout the event. This is a benefit for the prevention of skin cancer.

Life Is Good Festival - Kitty Hawk Kites at Jockey’s Ridge Crossing (mp 12.5), Nags Head.
You won’t want to miss this big outdoor summer bash with a homegrown backyard feel. The festival features, family entertainment, dozens of spirited games and activities, and watermelons galore. This official Life Is Good event will donate a portion of all festival proceeds to national children’s charities, as well as local charities. Blackbeard's Pirate Festival - Kitty Hawk Kites at Jockey’s Ridge Crossing (mp 12.5), Nags Head.
This four day event kicks off on Wednesday, with community events happening all over the Outer Banks. Enjoy Pirate history, storytelling, reenactments, shows. The culmination of a fun filled week of events will be on Saturday, September 19th at Jockey's Ridge Crossing Shopping Center. Kitty Hawk Kites Hangin’ with Santa - Kitty Hawk Kites at Jockey’s Ridge Crossing (mp 12.5), Nags Head.
Children can have their free photo taken with Santa in a demonstration Hang Glider Friday and Saturday, set up at Kitty Hawk Kites in Nags Head. This event is free, so bring your cameras!! Friday, November 27rd 10 am until 2 pm and Saturday November 28th 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm.

Kites with Lights - Jockey's Ridge State Park (mp 12.5), Nags Head.
Watch the night sky magically transform as skilled flyers maneuver their lit stunt kites to the sounds of your favorite holiday songs atop Jockey’s Ridge State Park. Join us for hot apple cider and cookies beginning at sunset across the street at the Kitty Hawk Kites store.
